Making changes to my logo.

This is a picture of me in front of the Daily Oklahoman wearing a Heady Tee with my logo. I have recently decided to change my logo. The decision came when I felt the urge to get back in the tee-shirt business. The change will be adding a body to the head. I think it will give the logo more character. I’m pretty excited about this.
I met with a graphic designer and shared my thoughts on the changes I made. He will be sending me a few options this week. I hope he captures the vision I have for my logo. We will take our time till we get it right. This is so important.
We will come out with two tees to start out with. It will be the signature tee and then one of our phrases from a headystory. When I first got into the tee-shirt game, I made a big mistake by trying to come out with several designs at once. I have went back to the drawing board, well I’m stilll at the drawing board, and I’m determined to give this one last shot. Wish me well.
College Tour

Well, I have been considering jumping back in the tee-shirt business with the Heady Tees. I really miss it and I think I didn’t give it a fair shake the first and second time around. Lol… Plus, I continue having people ask me about the Heady Tees. Since we are still in demand and I want to do it, I’m considering a college tour to promote the tees to college students. This should be fun and an opportunity to meet a bunch of fun people. I will also be looking for concerts and events to hit up to sell the Heady Tees.
The college tour is more than just an opportunity to sell tees. However, it will be high on our priority list. But, I’m looking forward to shaking hands and encouraging students to chase after that dream. The happiness I get from seeing people doing what they have a passion for everyday is unexplainable. It takes hard work to fulfill a dream but it can be done. So, I want to get out there on these college campuses and encourage these students to work hard for what makes them happy in their career choices.
Well, please keep me in your prayers as I pursue this tour. Planning is going to be pretty intense.
I think we are back in business!
My mission is to produce tee-shirts that are inspiring, positive and fun!

Each time my hand would drop, I knew I had dozed off. There wasn’t an over reaction to me dozing off. I didn’t jump up but my eyes would quickly look over as I reached for his hand again to assure he was still breathing. Once his chest indicated to me he was still breathing, I could relax and for short moments my mind would reflect on all the perfect days dad and I had. The times we shared at the park, the swimming pool, the vacations, the cooking, and the life lessons. There were so many moments. “Dad”, I whispered periodically. He wouldn’t give me any response besides lightly gripping my hand. I would smile when this occurred because it reminded me of when he would whisper to me “I love you son” right before I would fall asleep as a child. I never thought a grip could speak so much. Hello SilentWords.
See you at the next poetry night.
Thanks for reading another great HeadyStory.
The Deal on HeadyStories
Heady Here. I’m here to explain HeadyStories the best I can. Wait. Should I have gotten someone else to write this? Oh well, it’s too late now.
I started writing these really short stories due to my passion for writing and my dream of one day writing a novel. The goal with the stories is to capture a moment and allow the reader to fill-in the rest of the story how they see it.
HeadyStories are unique because every title consist of two words combined – frozenlaughs. And, the stories always end by saying hello to the title – hello frozenlaughs. It’s pretty simple but so unique.
Out the blue, I started taking the phrases and putting them on tee-shirts. My friends thought it was cool so we started making Heady Tees. I came up with my Heady logo by using a dime and tracing the outsides of the dime and adding eyes and three lines. The tees did so well that I stopped because I didn’t have a clue to what I was doing. I’m currently working on doing a few tees a month to sell at poetry night to help with the cost of the events and website.
Real quick, I should tell you a little about me. Well, I’m married to a beautiful lady and we have three gorgeous children. I’m the founder of basementseven.com. It’s exciting to say that I started a really great poetry night call We Tell Stories Poetry Night in 2001 and it’s still going today. I loved writing at an early age. The one thing I wish for is more time to read. I get great joy being active in the community and meeting new people. My best moment everyday is considering the fact Jesus died for me. Let me end by saying, thanks so much for taking time out your day to visit basementseven.com to learn more about HeadyStories. Smile a bunch!
Well, does this all make sense or should I go pay someone to write this for me?
Heady Stories Revisited

Heady Here! I wanted to share with you a HeadyStory. What are HeadyStories? HeadyStories are really short stories. The thing that makes HeadyStories unique is every story ends by saying hello to the title of the story, and 99% of the time, the title of the story consist of two words joined together…for example – FrozenLaughs – which the story would end by saying Hello FrozenLaughs. I started writing these stories because I really enjoy writing and I didn’t have the nerve to write a full novel. I then begin to wear the titles on tee-shirts. The tee-shirts became Heady Tees. So, there are heady tees & headystories. I will try and add a HeadyStory once a week as a Daily Chatter post. There is also a goal to have a new Heady Tee for sell every poetry night. I hope you enjoy the HeadyStory below.
HEADYSTORY BELOW: TITLE IS BABYNOAH
We couldn’t help but speed on this late Saturday night. My eyes never left the road. I was being cautious of the cars I was passing – hoping not to pass the police. The screaming was piercing my ears but I understood why the screaming was taking place. At 18, I never thought I would be in such a predicament. My heart was rushing. I was scared and somewhat nervous. My head turns quickly to look in the back seat of my 2007 Yukon – just purchased for me because I graduated with honors – to show my concern. Helen was doing a
type of scream with a slight laugh when I looked back. I think the laugh was to calm me but I knew she was in pain. “Three more miles Helen”, I repeat three times while channeling back in on my driving. Helen is my pregnant aunt who decided to start having serious contractions while I was visiting and my uncle was at my cousin’s softball game. My cellphone rings! I reach for it but in my reaching I knock it to the floor. “Dang”, I yell. Then I look back up, I notice the bright hospital sign less than a mile a head. Helen continues to scream and breathe heavy. She is sweating profusely. Five minutes or so go by and I pull up at the front door of the hospital emergency room. I jump out and run into the hospital to grab the first staff person I see. I get to the counter and tell the nurse “my aunt is in the car having a baby”! I sprint back to the car. I run to the opposite side of the car. I open the door – and there I meet – baby Noah! My aunt looking like a “hot mess” holding this 7 pound baby boy. Hello BabyNoah.
More HeadyStories coming really soon. Thanks for reading!
See you at the next We Tell Stories Poetry Night.
