Heady Here! I took sometime earlier today to email Timothy and see if he would do a quick email interview with me and he agreed. I have been listening to Timothy’s music the last few days via his myspace and I’m really enjoying what I’m hearing. Great sound. Smooth. Check him out when you get a chance.

Heady (H): So Tim, you’re from a big family? How big and what’s it like growing up in a
big family?

tim1Timothy (T): Yes I am, 7 Sisters & 5 Brothers, It’s never a dull moment growing up
in a large family, Advantages: learning what to do & what not to do that will get you
praise or punishment, saved me from many spankings though I still got some. Learning
tons about different personality types and how to relate to them and also see how
they react to certain things or situations differently. Feeling safe at night knowing
that if some one tried to break in they would blasted by a gang of folks.
Disadvantage: You can feel like you just got lost in the shuffle of many kids and don’t feel
special to your parents. Growing up in a poor family & getting of age where you start
putting things together in your mind, could lead you like it did me to start thinking
that you are a burden to your parents and that they would be better off if they did not
have to take care of you. Could easily get lost at Six Flags over Texas. If you did not
eat during dinner time it was a syrup sandwich for you… lol.

H: Let’s jump into the good stuff. How long have you been playing the sax?

T: Started When I was 11 so 28 years.

H: Do you have any funny stories to share from traveling all over the world?

T: Funny but Scary, I was in Boston in 05 on this camp ground and the sound guy and I were
sharing the upstairs in this old house. We had gotten into our beds and in the
middle of the night the windows were opening & closing constantly, I thought it was
our sound guy and he thought it was me until we started talking about it and
realized that we needed to pray and so with the sheet over my head I was until it stopped.

H: Lol… That’s funny. Two grown men scared. Give us a few places outside of the United States that you’ve performed.

T: London England, Paris France, Holland, Botswana Africa, Iceland, Cayman Islands

H: What role did your father have on your musical career?

T: Discovering that I had a gift & the magnitude of it & keeping me encouraged & consistent in developing my skills.

H: I’m a big Israel Houghton fan. I know you’ve spent time working with Israel.
What makes Israel – Israel?

T: I believe it’s a combo of things. 1st He Loves God with his whole heart and keeps it real. 2nd He is extremely grateful to his mother for not aborting him when encouraged by her parents to do so because she being white and his dad Jamacian. 3rd He keeps a heart open to diversity and is always pouring into others. In short:God,Grateful heart,Loving others

H: You have a new album coming out. What’s the name of the album and when can we
buy it?

T: My new album is titled “The Mention of Your Name” Coming the end of March

H: What was your main inspiration for this album?

T: Knowing who I am in christ & Breaking free of fear.

H: What’s the vision for the album?

T: To reach the unchurched, this album will allow me to minister to people of all walks of life
that most religious organizations would turn their backs upon.

H: Do you have a favorite song on this album?

T: Yes I do, “Amy Lynn”. It’s a song I personally wrote for my wife that I played to her in our
wedding. It is a Love song of grattitude for who & what God places in our lives.
God’s word says “let us Love one another, for Love is of God: and everyone who Loves
is born of God and knows God.” 1 John 4:7 My payer is that the Spirit of God is
released through this music in a way that those who hear it will connect with it in a
way that they find themselves being grateful & thakful for life in itself, and that will be
the open door to their hearts. Come into His gates with thanksgiving in our hearts.

H: Who did you work with on this album?

T: God has given me the opportunity to work alongside an amazing producer, Brandon Fraley, to record my second solo instrumental project. Brandon wrote majority of the tunes and is singing the background vocals on most.

H: Did you have a chance to work with any of your family on this album?

T: My Lovely wife took me on a fabulous photo shoot on Valentins Day, how sweet is that.
She is the best you know & if you go to www.colemanartphotography.com anyone will know.

H: Why should people buy this album?

T: Simply put, if you enjoy music you will love this album and it will release a spirit of peace in your home, car, office, whever you are. also, you will be sending me out to spread the love of God in a fresh & relevant way to reach this generation the enemy is fighting hard to take down. They must know that they are of a royal priesthood & that God loves them.

H: Do you have a myspace or website?

T: I encourage all to check me out @ www.myspace.com/timcolemanmusic

H: Are you going to be perform in the Oklahoma City area anytime soon?

T: Invite me :-)

H: When you hear the name Jesus, what’s the first thing that comes to mind?

T: Unconditional Love

Great interview. I'm so proud of Timothy in more was than you know. Tim came a long way through this journey and so glad that God is his first priority in his life. It is a honor to know him.
