B7 enjoys giving people exposure i.e. new artists, designers, businesses, etc. On January 24th, we had the opportunity to give Vernon Deas an opportunity to showcase his new fashion line called Group Fly Clothing. It was pretty exciting. It added something new to poetry night as well. B7 caught up with Vernon after the poetry night and he was pretty excited. Check it out.

Adam L. did a nice mixture of jazz & hip-hop. His style was refreshing. We most definitely can see Adam L. & Live Society coming back again to We Tell Stories Poetry Night. Check out this footage of Adam discussing his performance immediately after poetry night. Sorry for the footage being a little dark.
Hello MorningMoments

You could see my breath as I breathed at 6:43 a.m. The morning walk was bone chilling. It was 10 blocks to the private school my parents enrolled me in 3 years ago. I’m always considering silly things on this early journey. Why did my parents name me Rocky? Does the President’s wife cook breakfast? Yes, these are such silly thoughts. I consider while laughing. With horns blaring, tires screeching, and people walking, I begin to count my steps. The walk for me is the same everyday. As I get closer to the dark ally I pass daily, my counting stops. My head turns in every direction – hoping I’m not being watched. I kneel quietly and reach into my bag for the sandwich I prepared last night. I place it as close as I can – hoping it is visible. The note attached simply says hello and enjoy. She looks about 34. I often ponder her situation once I take off running for the next block. I never look back with my heart pounding and “shouting excuse me” to the morning sidewalk traffic. The goal is to catch my breath before I reach the school. On arrival, I locate my friends and converse until the bell rings while anticipating tomorrow. Hello MorningMoments.
